A first time for everything

Dawson has been walking for over a month now which is exciting, fun, and makes him a lot faster! He basically tries to walk as fast as he can which results in many bangs on the bum, head, and knees. I think that he is trying to show me how strong he is also because he tries to pick up all of his toys and carry them around the house, many of them are as big as he is which also results in many injuries. Here is one picture I've got of him walking, he is fast so they are hard to get :)

Sorry he doesn't have his pants on but at least he has his Elmo slippers on :)

Dawson went to his very first Jazz game! We were very excited to welcome him to the world of the NBA. He did really well, I was afraid that he would cry with all the loud noises like he has at past sporting events but there was so much to look at that he was entertained. He would join in on the yelling and clapping, not always for the right team but he'll learn :) Now we are excited that we can bring him more often and not have to leave him with a babysitter as much.

It's been a while...

So I am not that great at keeping up on my blog, I am a lot better at reading blogs. I'll try to write more then once a month! We had a wonderful Christmas, we made a visit to Santa at the mall and Dawson was not quite as excited as me to see the jolly old guy. As we got closer to Santa Dawson just gripped onto me tighter, and when I made him sit in Santa's lap he looked right into his face and screamed. So I took Dawson back and I sat next to Santa while Dawson tried to push himself as far away from him as he could. So in the picture there is Santa and I smiling having a great time while Dawson is wet and red faced. The things we do for our children at Christmas. :)

The rest of the holiday went much better. We had Christmas Eve dinner with the Jardine's and went to the Belnap's to talk to Elder Belnap on the phone calling from Hong Kong. It was so fun to talk to Tyler, he is doing great! After we got back to our house and put Dawson to bed Santa came!! When Dawson woke up the next morning he wasn't quite sure what to do with so many toys. He also enjoyed unwrapping the gifts, mostly he just enjoy the boxes and ripping up the paper. At first he was a little confused because the whole month every time he touched a gift I would say no no, when it came time open them he looked at me like why aren't you getting mad? After presents it was breakfast time and this was the 1st Christmas at our new house and our first Christmas by ourselves, every other year we have been with family. So I decided to do our first big Christmas breakfast, with eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, Cinnamon rolls etc. Lets just say we had to open the window and door to get the smoke and the burnt smell out. Not quite my mom's Christmas breakfast smell :)

All in all it was a very good Christmas. Here are some pictures of the festivities:

One of Dawson's favorite things at Christmas...a large box
